Sometimes it pays to give heed to rumors, especially those pertaining to the Dark Forest. Entire groups of travelers are known to have disappeared within its sinister core. The bones of the missing males are carefully arranged at the safest edge of the forest, perhaps as a warning to the surrounding masses or could it be a demonstration from those responsible that the horrific deed was not the work of any woodland animal? The fates of the female travelers are unknown as they have not been seen or heard from ever again. What monsters lurk beneath the shady lair of the dark forest?
Gala and Diana have traveled together for the past five years. The vagabonds depend on their wits to survive. When Diana is accosted and robbed she refuses to let the culprit escape for good. She and Gala stay on the path as instructed, but no one cautioned the women about the Dark Elves. On the path, a mysterious coal black figure of a man appears. He has shockingly white hair and strange looking tattoos on his body. Diana and Gala are powerless against his allure.
Diana and Gala are taken to the underground kingdom of raedjour. It is here that they find out human females are stolen and taken to the dark city to become breeders for the obsidian race. The raedjour were created by the goddess Rhaen to be her sexual consorts; however, she created only males. Once she realized her mistake, Rhaen instructed the males to procreate with humans. The fact that the goddess created them as consorts causes the raedjour to be irresistible to women. The worst part is that now Diana and Gala have fallen under the spell, and they too will become raedjour. Their new purpose in life is to breed.
Diana rebels once she finds out that she must remain there against her will and be taken by all the elves until her true mate is found. Then she meets Salin. He seems to understand the needs that go beyond the physical. With him Diana finds new freedom.
Author Jet Mykles has produced an erotic fantasy with a difference: it is illustrated. Dark Elves 1: Taken is fast-paced and imaginative. If multiple sex partners, explicit sex scenes, and fetishes are not your thing, then I advise you to pass on this one, but if you enjoy those elements in your reading, then you will delight in Dark Elves 1: Taken. Mykles is not afraid to push the envelope in order to create a story that captivates the reader.
